Overlord’s Mass for the Dead Smartphone Game Delayed

Overlord ended its third season earlier this season, and it was really outstanding. Overlord has grown into one of the most famous isekai anime. Exys Inc. announced that the Overlord game is going to be delayed. The name of the game is Mass for the Dead, which has been inspired by Kugane Maruyama’s Overlord novel series. The launch of the smartphone game has been moved to 2019.

The game was slated to be released this year but, it has moved to 2019. The company has also revealed new visual for the game. Exyx Inc. also revealed that the game has already received 400,000 pre-registrations. This is another evidence about the popularity of the series. Mass for the Dead will be free to play but, it will have in-app purchases like most games nowadays.

Mass for the Dead

Maruyama began working on the light novel series online back in 2010. Kadokawa’s Enterbrain began printing the series in 2012. The novel was released in North America by Yen Press. The same company is also releasing Hugin Miyama and Satoshi Ōshio’s manga adaptation.

The first 13 episodes of Overlord’s television anime were released in Japan in July 2015. The series was streamed by Funimation at the same time when it was airing in Japan. The company also released the series with its English dub on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in November 2016. The second one premiered in January, and it ended on April 3. The third anime series premiered on July 10.
