Sarazanmai Anime Reveals Cast, Story, Characters

The Animate Girls Festival 2018, revealed some details about Sarazanmai. We finally got to know the story of Kunihiko Ikuhara’s Sarazanmai. Adding to this we also got to see the character designs. Here is the story of the series—

One day, three second-year middle school students — Kazuki Yasaka, Toi Kuji, and Enta Jinai — meet a kappa-like creature named Keppi. Keppi proclaims to be the heir to the throne of Kappa Kingdom. Then Keppi forcibly takes the students’ shirikodama (a mythical organ kappa steal). After the incident, they turn into kappa and Keppi tells them, “If you want to return to your former selves, you need to connect in ‘that way’ and you must bring me the shirikodama of zombies.”

Here is cast for the anime—
Ayumu Murase as Kazuki Yasaka. Kazuki is a second-year middle school student. He used to love soccer.

Kouki Uchiyama as Toi Kuji. He is a second-year middle school student who has transferred into Kazuki’s class. However, the rest of the class keep themselves aloof from him.

Shun Horie as Enta Jinai. Enta is Kazuki’s childhood friend and when they were in a soccer club together. Back then they were known as the “Golden Combo.”

Junichi Suwabe as Keppi. Keppi is like a kappa-like creature who calls itself the heir to the throne of the Kappa Kingdom.

Mamoru Miyano as Reo Niiboshi. Reo is a policeman who works at a police box.

Yoshimasa Hosoya as Mabu Akutsu. Mabu is Reo’s partner, and he works at the police box with Reo.

The anime is also going to get a radio program which is titled “Prezanmai,” and it is starting in January. It will feature Junichi Suwabe and Ikuhara. The staff working on the show has also launched a Twitter account for Reo and Mabu. This account will be updated almost every day through March 31.

The series is being directed by Ikuhara along with Teruko Utsumi, who is in charge of the scripts. Nobuyuki Takeuchi (Fireworks) is serving as chief director. The original character designs are being done by Migiis with Kayoko Ishikawa designing the designs for animation. Ayaka Fujii (FLCL Alternative, Kill la Kill) is taking care of the background art with Studio Pablo. Yukari Hashimoto (Penguindrum, Yuri Kuma Arashi) is composing the music. The anime is going to premiere in April 2019.
