We saw how Kiyoshi and his four other friends have struggled inside the School Prison. Now that they are all free students once again, they enjoy newborn popularity inside the school. On the other side, the members of USC is now in the School Prison for their deeds in the last season. They have the receiving end for the supposed to be the second season. But is there going to be Prison School Season 2?

It has been roughly two years since the last animated material for Prison School has been released. The Mad Wax Ova was released last March 4, 2016, and takes off with the season 1 ending. The first season animated the first nine volumes of the manga. So far, the manga has 26 volumes, enough to make another season for the anime. However, there is still no official announcement for a second season. Are we still getting the season two that we’ve been waiting for?

Things are a lot more complicated when it comes to manga and anime production. The anime helps the manga sell more volumes; if the anime is successful in promoting the manga, the second season is definitely going to come. However, the reason that we’re not able to get a season two is that of a simple reason.

Prison School manga’s sales were boosted during the anime run. The sales decline a little after the anime, but it began earning sales even without anime. During the anime, the manga was selling 4,519 units per volume, which is not bad but not good either. Because of this, there is really no need for a second animated material.

And furthermore, the manga ended December last year. The manga’s run lasted for five years since its first publication in Weekly Young Magazine. With the end of the manga itself, it would be harder to make a second season because there is no manga to be sold. If fans can make it possible, the second season could be the last anime season for this series.
